Privacy commitments
Your rankings are private to you
Your preference list is private to your account unless you choose to share it. Authorised administrators may access account information to operate the service and help with support requests. Your individual preferences are not provided to advertisers.
Other students cannot see what you ranked
Your preferences are not visible to other users by default. If you choose to share your ranking, a read-only link is created that only people you share it with can access. There are no leaderboards, popularity stats, or public profiles.
No popularity data or competition stats
I deliberately don't show how many people have ranked a particular post, which posts are popular, or any form of aggregate data. That kind of information creates anxiety and herd behaviour. Your choices should reflect what suits you.
Your personal data is not for sale
I do not sell your personal data or provide individual rankings, review identities or browsing histories to advertisers. Service providers process the information needed to operate MedPath, including hosting, sign-in and the review processing described below.

Reviews and automatic summaries
Review text and relevant existing reviews are processed by OpenAI’s API to remove names, identifying details and abusive language, and to update public summaries. Useful criticism is retained. Sign-in details, browser identifiers and optional reviewer email addresses are not included in these AI requests. Public reviews use the processed text. Original reviews and earlier summaries are retained privately to investigate errors and correct or reverse an update. Please do not include patient information or details that identify a person. Contact support@medpath.ie if a published review needs correction or removal.
What we collect
We collect your email address via Google sign-in for authentication purposes only. Your ranking preferences are stored so you can pick up where you left off. If you consent via the cookie banner, we also collect anonymous usage analytics (page views, feature usage) to help improve the tool, and nothing that identifies you personally.
How your data is stored
Your data is stored in Supabase hosted in the EU region. It is encrypted at rest and in transit. Other users cannot access your ranking data unless you share a link. Authorised administrators may access it to operate the service and provide support.
Sharing your ranking
If you use the share feature, a read-only link is created for your ranking list. Only people who have that specific link can view it; it is not indexed, not discoverable by search engines, and not visible to other users of the tool. You can revoke shared links at any time from the Settings page.
Cookies
We use two types of cookies. Essential cookies keep you signed in and maintain your session; these are strictly necessary and cannot be disabled. Optional analytics cookies are only set if you give consent through the cookie banner. You can change your cookie preferences at any time by clicking the cookie settings link in the footer.
Your rights
You can export, delete, or modify your ranking data at any time from the Settings page. For a full deletion of all data associated with your account, including any backups, email support@medpath.ie and we will process your request promptly.
Under 18
This tool is designed for medical students preparing for internship. We do not knowingly collect or process personal data from anyone under the age of 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us and we will delete the data immediately.
